12 Angry Men = Mind Blown

Imagine a movie with no car chase, no high octane action sequences, no romance between a girl and a boy and no stunning visuals. You might think then such kind of movie will be very boring and will have nothing to offer except few sleepy heads in the theatres. This is where Sidney Lumet has proved us wrong. He made us see that you don't need any CGI or action sequences to make your film look stunning and his point has been mind blowingly proved in his film 12 Angry Men which is a masterpiece telling us a story about this jury made of 12 men who have to decide the fate of a boy charged with the murder of his own father.

Now what starts as a courtroom drama soon takes a turn towards the detective genre. All the 11 men are convinced that the boy is the culprit except one. There names are not told to us until towards the end, two of them exchange pleasantries and get to know each others name. They are referred to as Juror 1, Juror 2 and so on. This film heavily relies on the plot and the dialogues as out of the whole 96 minutes of it's runtime, only 3 minutes are filmed outside the jury room. YES!! the whole movie is almost fully filmed inside the jury room. When making a movie of this type, there are risks involved as the audience can be easily bored but this film is made very intelligently and surely keeps you at the edge of your seat. Due to one's man reasonable doubt, he refuses to vote against the child and he puts forward his theory as to why he thinks so. The way this movie unfolds is smart, witty and exceptionally baffling. This is a very simple and smart film based on witty dialogues and awesome storyline.

Talking about the cast, all of them have done a terrific job onscreen. Every one slipped inside there characters comfortably and camouflaged themselves into there respective roles. There was no single actor who was wasted and everyone had there part to play the way this film demanded. Sidney Lumet had done a terrific job in directing this film and the story and screenplay by Reginald Rose is over the top. This is definitely one of the best movie ever made and is highly recommended to all the movie lovers out there.

If you are bored with meaningless movies with no plot or want to see something different and interesting, do check out this film. It is surely a masterpiece and a movie that deserves to be watched for it's sheer brilliance. It's simple plot and intelligent dialogues will surely blow up your mind.
