There is a feeling of satisfaction and joy if you watch a well made movie with actors in it who really act and keep you engaged throughout. Shaitan is one such film which came out in 2011 and it consists of  several great actors who steal the show. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, this is surely one of the finest crime-thriller film to have come out from Bollywood. Amrita Jayshankar or Amy (Kalki Koechlin), Dushyant Sahu or Dash (Shiv Pandit), Zubin Shroff (Neil Bhoopalam), Karan Chaudhary or KC (Gulshan Devaiya) and Tanya Sharma (Kirti Kulhari) are five friends who make up a fake kidnapping plan in order to bribe Inspector Malvankar (Rajkummar Rao) to cover up a hit-and-run case. What follows is a series of events that keep you at the edge of your seat with some shocking twists and turns to keep you invested.

This film is shot with some cool camera angles. The way the characters are introduced in the film is fresh and new. One of my favourite scene was when they introduce the character of Rajeev Khandelwal in the film, it's really cool and shot like a FPS video game. The characters are layered and real. I liked the character of Kalki as her character was more in focus here so you get easily attached to her. There is a scene inside an apartment where a shootout takes place and Rajeev and two other guys shoot each other and there is this song "Khoya Khoya Chaand" being played in the background and that scene is just amazing and beautifully shot. A chase sequence involving Rajeev and Rajkummar Rao is also well shot. Bejoy Nambiar's direction is praiseworthy and commendable as he really made this film in the most stylish fashion which elevates it to a higher level. Filled with trust, deceit, deception and love, Shaitan is a great thriller with some memorable performances which I think should be seeked and cherished. Also the way the end credits roll is very cool and stylish.

As said before, the performances are just fantastic here, all the cast and supporting cast were good in there role. You cannot point to someone and say that he was only good or that actor was good, everybody was brilliant here. From the dark and depressing character of Kalki to the intense and dutiful character of Rajeev, everyone was just phenomenal here.

Overall, Shaitan is a fine crime-thriller and is definitely a must watch. Go seek this shaitan for a beautiful cinematic experience.
