102 Not Out Movie Review - Age Is Just A Number
Two old people's who happen to be father and son live a life poles apart from each other in the same house. When the father decides to send his son to a nursing home, the son becomes worried and accepts his father's conditions which he needs to follow to continue his stay in the house.

Dattatraya (Amitabh Bachchan) wants to live a long life and wants to beat the record of the oldest living person on the Earth, which is held by a Chinese man. His son Babu (Rishi Kapoor) has different plans for his life and has accepted his old age and wants to live in peace. Dattatraya decides to send his son Babu to an old age home as he believes that to stay alive for a longer time, he needs to have only positive energy around him and his son's boring and monotonous life may affect him in fulfilling his dream.
There are very few films in which the role of the main protagonists is played by someone very old with wrinkles crossing there faces. 102 Not Out not only displays the young mind inside an old person but also gives them something meaningful to do on screen. They are not any grumpy old person playing a side character in a big family, they are the main heroes of the film and carry the whole movie with there performance. The film displays the relationship between a father and a son and shows that whatever age may come if once a father then always a father. He takes care of you and wants your happiness even during his old age and never retires from his job of giving affection to his offspring. The scenes involving the fight between Amitabh's character and Rishi's character are delightful to watch. Watching these two older actors taking a dig on each other brings out an absolute delight and happiness to your face. Much of the film works out because of the incredible performance from the cast. Amitabh Bachchan "yo's" with the confidence of a teen while Rishi Kapoor's performance is exceptional as always. They are great actors as we have come to know them, but I want to talk about the third wheel Dhiru here played by the immensely talented Jimit Trivedi who I have missed and was very happy to see him again after a long time. Jimit takes up the accent and his character with perfection and successfully cracks you up with his funny expressions and dialogues. I want to see more of him in the future, and I believe he is one of the few persons who possess an excellent comic timing. As the movie has more focus on Amitabh and Rishi, Jimit is left with fewer things to do but has ample amount of screen time and makes his presence felt whenever on screen.
The film has a few moments that are genuinely incredible like an old Dattatraya comforting his son Babu by wrapping him in a blanket to make him go to sleep, and there are others too and that is the problem with the film as only a few moments, or some particular scenes are just the ones that are filled with love and compassion much like the bond between a father and son and not the whole film. It is in these moments that 102 Not Out shines the brightest but alas they are only a few, and as an entire film, it drags a lot and feels trippy sometimes. In short, the movie lives in the moments and fails to make an impact as a whole film. Also, the climax of the scene was stretched as it could have ended at a point, but the director forces an extra scene at the end which was unnecessary. The spoon feeding by the background cues manipulating the audience by telling whether a scene is sad or happy is amateurish.
In the end, 102 Not Out is a decent watch which your family members and parents will like more than you as it is the new Baghban. It has good performances and some funny one-liners that land most of the time. It brings forward the relationship between a father and a son and shows that it has no expiry date attached to it.
