Namaste England Movie Review - Dumb And Dumber
Director Vipul Amrutlal Shah's Namaste England shows a middle finger to the cinema and acts as a disease made to give you a headache.

Namaste England is the sequel to the 2007 film Namastey London and is about these two ridiculous married couples who come up with some bizarre plan about settling in London. They meet during festivals and love blossoms as he stalks his way into her life. He along with his friends creepily watches her from a distance which she very much admires because you know its Bollywood, you have to stalk her to get her. But marrying her is not the major bump on the road, after all, the title of the film is Namaste England, so of course, the main problem is getting citizenship there.
Talking of problems, they are like passing wind in this movie. Whenever any trouble arises, it gets solved almost instantaneously by a dialogue. Let's be honest, we all knew by the trailers how this film would eventually end up to be and only in that aspect the movie doesn't disappoint. One wonders how even something as crappy as this gets funding. Does no one read the script? Do they even know what they are doing or do they sleepwalk during the whole filming process?
Matters get worse post-interval when the action shifts to the foreign location. We are introduced to a character who is an Indian and despises the people of his own country. He is used as a device for our hero so that he can give that big monologue like Akshay Kumar about India and all that "Kohinoor Diamond" thing invoking the patriotism within us. I am sure even Kumar will facepalm during that horribly scripted sequence. The dialogues are over-the-top and cringeworthy.
In between all this mess comes a sub-plot involving Anil Mange's character and his staying away from the family. He too gives our hero a chance to teach us a thing or two about family values and having pride in our nation. Which reminds me of another sub-plot involving illegal immigration, the most miserable thing about this movie where a "Pyaar Mein Dooba" Param (Arjun Kapoor) dodges bullets to cross the border.
Param and Jasmeet (Parineeti Chopra) are the dumbest couples you will see on screen. Jasmeet uses Param for her benefits which he thinks of as love. Param is naive and gets horny thoughts when hugging her wife. Arjun Kapoor tries hard, but it doesn't help when your acting chops are substandard. Parineeti Chopra as a manipulative and unlikable girl is all beauty with no brain. Their chemistry together leaves no spark and feels forced just to create this mishmash of a film. They were much better in Ishaqzaade.
Director Vipul Amrutlal Shah who had previously given us "masterpieces" like London Dreams and Action Replay should stop churning out any more films. If he can go as far as Namaste England, then it is high time for him to stop directing.
Namaste England looks like a spoiled prodigy of Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. By the time it ended, I was both frustrated and exhausted. I will be damned if someone comes out liking this film. Probably, the only ones watching this film should be the concerned authorities as it explains in detail the process of illegal immigration and how it is carried out. It might prove beneficial for them. Namaste England is like an overpriced smartphone on which rich people's invest money as they have abundant of it and don't know where to spend it.
