Julie 2 is the sequel to 2003's Julie which had Neha Dhupia as the leading lady and now in 2017 we have Raai Laxmi who plays the character of Julie in the film's sequel which is a pointless 2 hour long film.
The story addresses our film industry's casting couch issue which is told through the life of Julie, an aspiring film actress who wants to make it big in the industry. While this is the way the movie initially starts, after some time towards the climax it takes an unexpected turn just to add twist to this horrible narrative. Just to be frank, DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE.
Raai Laxmi is an talented actress but she is just reduced to a skinny actress who shows her body in her bikinis on screen to raise the temperature. Her acting talent is wasted here and the camera is more interested in filming her body parts. Other actors like Ravi Kishan and Pankaj Tripathi too are wasted in this movie and one wonders what the hell were they thinking by signing this goddamned hell of a torture movie.
Julie 2 comes from our very sanskaari ex-CBFC chairperson Mr. Pahlaj Nihalani who at once denied certificates to these types of movies which showed women as a sex object. Even movies that were far, far better than this movie were denied certificates and now our sanskaari chairperson gives us his very "sanskaari" film Julie 2.
The movie at it's heart had a very nice story but it all gets messy and unbearable because of it's poor direction and weak story line. This really looked like a movie shot in early 90's instead of 2017. If only they had concentrated more on execution, direction and story this would have been a somewhat better film if not the best. Raai Laxmi's sizzling body cannot save this dull movie.
