Women empowerment has taken it's place in the bollywood industry and many movies have been released which are women oriented like Parched, Lipstick Under My Burkha and now we have Tumhari Sulu.

Tumhari Sulu has Vidya Balan who plays the character of Sulu and she is a women who likes to win every competition and goes with the spirit  "Main kar sakti hai". She is strong, independent and funny. The film takes off when she goes to a radio station to take a pressure cooker that she had won and notices a poster which says about becoming a radio jockey. The film then shows all the problems she faces after she takes the job and how she deals with them.

Now Vidya Balan as Sulu is terrific, no one can replace her as Sulu. She plays it so beautifully that we can't even imagine anyone else in her shoes. Manav Kaul as her husband plays his part well. He is supportive and vulnerable. It's nice to see him in a lighter character as last time he was on screen, he portrayed a negaive role in Prakash Jha's Gangaajal. Neha Dhupia as Sulu's boss is good and all the other supporting cast also play there roles perfectly.

Suresh Triveni who has directed the film has done his job nicely. He had also previously directed two films in 2009 namely Conditions Apply and Aiyo Paaji!. As a director, he has done a wonderful job of showing the life of Sulu on screen. The film drags at times specially during the second half. But all in all, it's a decent watch his weekend.
