Tiger Zinda Hai - Movie Review
Cast - Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal, Sajjad Delfrooz
Directed by - Ali Abbas Zafar
So we have got Salman firing guns, flaunting his body and deflecting bullets in Tiger Zinda Hai which is the sequel to the 2012 film Ek Tha Tiger. While the prequel was directed by Kabir Khan, the story moves forward with Ali Abbas Zafar in director's chair here. A few minutes into the film and it becomes evident that this film will surely be a box office success because you know it's a Salman Khan film with bhai's usual masala ingredient served with patriotism to touch the inner desh bhakt inside you. The film is based on the 2014 abduction of Indian and Muslim nurses by ISIS and in this film it's Tiger's job to save them because he is the superhero here.
On the bright side, this film is entertaining in parts and is surely quite an improvement over it's prequel providing some good action sequences and a top notch cinematography. Salman is put in difficult situations here but everything is a piece of cake for our Tiger who just manages to come out even from the worst. Salman does what he usually do's in his film's and his fans will surely love there bhai doing action sequences and dodging bullets as they don't seem to touch him for whatever reason. Zoya (Katrina Kaif) impresses by her stunts and fights which are done by her but she still needs to work more on her acting skills. Abu Usman (Sajjad Delfrooz) is the same old villian here who gets ample opportunity to kill the main hero but always leaves him alive at the hands of his men to "take care" of him or even at one time in a room filled with poisonous gas but Tiger manages to escape from that too, obviously. Salman fights with the wolves with his bare hands and kills bad men with wet clothes, well he should join the Avengers in infinity war. They really need a hero like Tiger to fight with Thanos.
Paresh Rawal as Firdauz surely lights up the screen with his humour and undoubtedly delivers a terrific performance. Other casts like Angad Bedi, Neha Hinge, Anjalie Gupta too deliver best performances but they are all disguised by Salman Khan as the film majorly focuses on him and that is a pity. The film just doesn't let them shine through.
So, Tiger Zinda Hai is surely a treat for the Salman fans out there who want to see him do his usual stuff and blow whistles at there star. The film is a masala entertainer with no logic so don't use brain here if you want to enjoy it. For other cinema lovers who seek content, the film will disappoint you.
