Maze Runner: The Death Cure is the final installment in the Maze Runner franchise that bids adieu with this last part in the trilogy. The film takes up after the events of the previous "The Scorch Trials" and finds Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) in a rescue mission to save his friends. It is a continuation of it's prequel so watch the two parts before it to understand the story.
There are some things to like in this movie, its visuals are amazing, the action sequences are breath-taking and we have a fantastic performance from Dylan O'Brien. There are no prologues here so as mentioned above, watch the previous two installments if you haven't before watching this one. One thing that I liked the most about this film was the bond between Thomas and Newt (Thomas Brodie-Sangster). Their friendship was the best part of this film that provided emotion and some weight to this film. Also, the performances of the rest of the cast was also impressive so no complaints there.
But the film has its own bad things about it, what I didn't like was the cliches used here. There are plenty of them, so much that you are able to predict certain scenes. Also, I didn't connect with any of the characters in the film so as a result I didn't actually cared if anything happened to them. For a movie named "The Death Cure", it is not actually about the cure, it is all about saving their friends and loved ones.
Overall, Maze Runner: The Death Cure is not a groundbreaking film in the trilogy so if you have not liked the previous two installments, there are chances you won't like this one either. For the other Maze Runner fans out there, there are some enjoyable moments present here that you might enjoy watching.
