Love, Simon Movie Review - There Is Everything To Love Here
A high school boy has trouble coming out and revealing his identity of being a gay. He finds another gay person online and anonymously starts chatting with him. Determined to discover the identity of the person, he begins investigating and also resolves some conflicts with relationships in his life.

At the beginning of the movie, there is a dialogue from Simon Spier (Nick Robinson) in which he says that "I am like you. I have a totally perfect life like you except that I have a secret." That secret is as we find out is about him being gay. He is a teenager who has some lovely friends and a cool family; the problem is that he is not ready to come out and say he is gay, yet. Based on the novel Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, Love, Simon is directed by Greg Berlanti and is a coming of age film that will surprise and entertain you.
Most of the teen films we generally see feature characters lacking depth, and they all try to be cool, and there is a lot of references to the social media like Facebook and Instagram. The story is cliched, and all of them come out as a dumb movie made for making money at the box office. The last coming of age movie about teens that was captivating and I enjoyed watching was Greta Gerwig's Lady Bird. Love, Simon is a very entertaining film and what makes it different is not just that this film tells a teen story through the perspective of a gay character, but also that it focuses on the other aspects of a teenagers life like bullying, and that makes the film relatable. Any teenager can relate to this movie if they had gone through the same things and conditions and that makes it a delightful watch for everyone. It's sweet, humorous and amusing. Since, Simon doesn't know who the person he chats with online is, he starts investigating and this provides a mystery element to the movie which I enjoyed a lot. The pacing is fine, and there are no drags or unnecessary drama in the movie. It's a teen film with no unnecessary sex scenes or lame adult jokes; this is a very mature movie.
Nick Robinson was fantastic in the movie and gives a superb performance. He is going to be known as the guy in the Love, Simon movie if spotted in any other film or show. The supporting cast was also remarkable in the movie, and no one felt dull or out of place.
My only issue with the film is that there is a character in the movie who is a bully and he does some cruel things which are unapologetic. In the film, he is just given a severe talk, and all goes back to normal again. I didn't like that in the movie as what he did was hurtful, and it should have been handled more seriously in the film.
Overall, Love, Simon is a film no one expected but now when it has come, it surprises and entertains you, and this is a movie that can be enjoyed by everybody and you should definitely check it out.
