Now I was happy to see that there were no beeps during the cuss parts and I hope there won't be any in the future films. I think regarding censorship, the situation is improving in India and expect that there won't be any cuts in the future. But the same cannot be said for this Shashanka Ghosh film because just by making the females mouth cuss words in the movie won't do it any good and the movie relies on sex talk by the women's more rather than focusing on delivering something as bold as the lead characters. I don't expect every film to turn out to be a masterpiece, but at least you can treat the film well. At its core, Veere Di Wedding is nothing new and is just the same old typical Bollywood film with cliches which has its lead female characters translating the meaning of orgasms in Hindi. They are bold and beautiful but lack the depth and hence feel more like cardboard characters. It's more like the Bollywood's take on Sex and the City consisting of some stretched side plots and a runtime which feels dragged after some time. This movie is not about feminism but about females whose conflicts take up most of the scenes. It seems like the writers Nidhi Mehra, and Mehul Suri focused more on making the women bold and loosed all interest from the plot which comes out as a derivative of some previous movies like Queen, Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara but without a soul. After a time it starts feeling bored and ends up being predictable.

The fun parts in the film involve scenes with Rishabh's family, and there is one other scene in which Meera is vomiting thanks to her full 'daaru' night, and his son imitates her. She is jokingly told that her son won't forget this incident and will take time to overcome it. It is genuinely funny.

Kareena and Sonam did give a good performance, but they are nothing memorable to take home with you. Swara comes under those rare Bollywood actresses who has balls for doing a full-fledged orgasm scene for comical effect. She is terrific in the film. Shikha Talsania as a mother with responsibilities was merely perfect and delightful to watch.

Veere Di Wedding is not that good a film that I expected and wanted it to be but it does create a benchmark in the industry, and I hope many movies would take a cue from it and develop something bigger and better.
